T.H.O.R. will make a great addition to any toolbox. The idea behind T.H.O.R. is to combine all the tools necessary to perform orifice fitting maintenance in one safe and easy to use, ergonomic package.
T.H.O.R. is made from 3lbs of hardened Aluminum Bronze. Safe for use in Hazardous areas, Zones 1 & 2. This NO SPARK tool features a 1/2" drive for use with any standard 1/2" drive socket (socket not included). T.H.O.R. has 3 distinct notch sizes 9/16", 3/4", & 7/8" to fit a wide variety of different sized valve stems.
It's important to note that T.H.O.R. is made from a no spark aluminum bronze alloy. Therefore, the material is softer than a conventional steel hammer, and requires some maintenance over time. As with any no-spark tool, the striking surface may require a redressing if the head begins to mushroom from repeated use. When using the hammer, take special precaution with repeated heavy strikes, making sure the force is not directed towards the 3/4" notch, as this may cause the notch to close over time.
The use of "cheater bars" is not recommended as this will cause damage to the handle.
Larger size sockets should be removed prior to using the striking surface, to avoid stress to the 1/2" drive.
Do not use to operate seized valves.
Do not use 9/16" notch side as a hammer. This will cause damage to the notch.
Do practice good safety precautions and always wear safety glasses and gloves while using T.H.O.R.
